The Center for Rural Health Innovation is working in collaboration with the Mid Atlantic Telehealth Resource Center and the School Based Health Alliance, in order to compile and distribute a registry of telehealth programs across the country. The registry will contain resources that are available to share with others in the field; a School Telehealth Center of Excellence. This presentation will offer an early view of the online tool as well as highlight the challenges of determining what is a Best Practice and what is the exact scope of this field.

California lawmakers are pushing a bill to develop a statewide policy for telehealth and telemedicine that will give students remote access to mental health services.

AB 2315, which is now headed to Gov. Jerry Brown’s desk, calls on the California Department of Education and Department of Health Care Services to develop connected care guidelines within two years for the state’s public schools, including charter schools.

The bill passed unanimously in both the Senate and State Assembly.

National TRC Webinar – School-Based Telehealth Networks: Lessons from the Field

In 2016, the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy (FORHP) provided funding through its Telehealth Network Grant Program to 21 community health organizations to encourage the development of telehealth-enabled school based health centers in rural communities. During this webinar, you will hear about the successes, challenges and lessons learned from three of the grantees as they approach the completion of the 2nd year of their four-year grant funded initiatives.
